Dr. Martinez-Kaigi
As a licensed clinical health psychologist, my primary goal is to help individuals optimize their health and well-being by addressing both psychological and behavioral aspects of wellness. This includes supporting health behavior change for disease prevention and health promotion. I work with clients to improve sleep, nutrition, physical activity, and stress management while also addressing depression, anxiety, trauma, burnout, chronic stress, and chronic medical conditions. I believe that connecting with one’s core values and beliefs cultivates a profound sense of inner peace, or amani, a Swahili word meaning peace. This inner peace is an essential part of healing from emotional and physical distress and helps foster lasting well-being and resilience.
I maintain a private practice and serve as Chief of Health Psychology at Override Health. I am also a Clinical Psychologist and Captain in the Connecticut Army National Guard and a Research Psychologist in the Yale Depression Research Program within the Department of Psychiatry. I hold a PhD in Clinical Health Psychology and Behavioral Medicine and a Master’s of Science in Kinesiology. With expertise in interdisciplinary care, I have worked on medical teams across military and civilian sectors and in clinical research settings. My professional experience includes work at the National Institutes of Health, Yale School of Medicine, Cleveland Clinic, the VA Healthcare System, and the U.S. Army Medical Department Regiment.
